How to Pair a VELUX Remote
Has your VELUX skylight or blind stopped responding to its remote?
We had a query today about a remote that stopped connecting to the skylight installed by a builder.
We thought it was helpful to give instructions on how pairing procedure works. It also is the same procedure for blinds.
Sometimes the remote simply needs to be paired again with the skylight or blind. The process is straightforward and can often be completed in just a few minutes.
1. Reset the skylight or blind
Locate the reset button on your VELUX skylight, blind or control.
Press and hold the reset button for approximately 10 seconds.
The skylight or blind should cycle or move briefly. This indicates that the product has been reset and is ready for the remote to be paired.
2. Put the remote into pairing mode
Locate the small pair/link button on the back or underside of your VELUX remote.
Use a paperclip or similar small object, press the button for approximately 1 second.
3. Complete the pairing
On the front of the remote, press the appropriate control buttons to complete the connection.
For the VELUX remote demonstrated in the video below, this involves using the stop and down controls to complete the pairing.
The skylight or blind should respond, confirming that the remote has successfully connected.

Still not working?
VELUX has produced a number of different skylights, blinds, wall switches and remote controls over the years, so the pairing procedure can vary depending on the model.
Before replacing a remote or assuming there is a fault with the skylight, it is worth checking that the correct pairing procedure has been followed for your VELUX product.
