Large, custom and architectural skylights can require a different approach from standard residential skylights.
Auckland Skylights can assess existing dome systems and determine whether refurbishment, replacement or a new custom solution is the most appropriate approach.
With large skylights, complete replacement can involve significant cost. Where possible, we investigate whether the existing frame and supporting structure can be retained and refurbished, rather than automatically replacing the entire skylight.

ENGINEERING AND WEIGHT
For large skylights, switching to double or triple glazing glass skylights increases weight and loads on the existing structure. Weights also increase risk with lifting and access to roof and need to be considered. New double and triple glazed domes may offer realistic alternatives as an alternative solution.
